1) Empty jar.
2) Cook oats, pour, eat.
3) Result = clean jar.
Could that be any more simple!?? No need for rinsing out or wasting the little flecks of peanut butter left round the jar before you recycle it…the perfect solution.
My oats were more than perfect though: I cooked 1/2 cup of oatmeal/barley flakes (barley gives it added chew :)), with 1 and a bit cups of milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a big 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin (what was left in the tin after my pumpkin muffin baking extravaganza from yesterday). I also added in 4 chopped dried dates –>
Such an unbelievably good mix! Sadly it didn’t all fit in the jar, which is why I have a little bowl with some granola on the side :p The drink is a glass of Innocent smoothie 🙂
Before breakfast and before some Jillian action, I had an apple, 2 tsp wheatgerm (packed with Vitamin E and folic acid, interestingly enough) and a square of chocolate.
Post-breakfast and post-morning, I ate lunch! Another random combination – a veg mix of ketchup roasted broccoli/aubergine/kale with some edamame beans, and a ‘smoothie’ – 1/2 cup yogurt, 50g cereal, cinnamon, nutmeg, 2tsbp flaxseed, a small banana and a mini pear. The flaxseed was ace – it gave it so much flavour becaaaauuuse….
….it had cocoa in it! Genius 🙂 And it makes the mix SO thick – perfect for eating with a spoon!
It was a fabulous lunch, made better by the finale:
Alas, no, I didn’t eat the whole box – just one. I gotta make my Nana’s cookies last!! I can’t get over how delicious they are, my mouth was literally watering…oh my.
After reading people’s comments to my post yesterday, I decided to try out this famous yogadownload.com website. Tbh, I was expecting it to not be that good (mainly cos my laptop is slow and cranky and doesn’t like nice websites like that) – but it was fab! I didn’t have to wait at all for any downloading, it was instant 😀 So, I did 20mins of Yoga Sculpt – weights and everything! Afterwards I had that lovely jelly feeling in my legs; you know, when you’ve stretched loads? It felt reeeeaaal good 😛
Following that, the afternoon snack of the day was a caramel soya yogurt, with a coco loco Nakd bar for dipping:
Surprisingly good! If you’ve never dipped your loco bar, DO!
Jessica over at Healthy Exposures inspired my dinner somewhat today – I had tempeh, which was baked with apple sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup. I also had a mix of chopped dates, curry powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut, and bulghar wheat. With those two, I had kabocha and parsnip (what else?) and some more pillows of fluffy aubergine shaped goodness:
Oooh a superb meal…you know how much I love..well, every flavour that was on that plate! So I don’t need to ramble 😛 Actually, I do – this meal was AMAZING! The tempeh (baked in the oven) was so soft, but with SUCH an amazing flavour, and the bulghar wheat was sweet and coconutty….wowzers!
For mon dessert later on, I sadly won’t be able to have what I did yesterday :(that’s for sure. It was a mocha soya yogurt, and a Pack Tunch bar:
The latter was my only one, which is a shame cos it was delicious!
Tonight though, I plan on having a 9 Bar quite possibly…full of flax and healthy things 🙂 But I might change my mind…I WON’T change my mind about bed though; after reading all your wonderful advice yesterday, I’m thinking I’ll hit the sack early tonight – especially important seeing as I have an exam tomorrow!! Yeek :s
Have a good evening!
( PS: in case you didn’t get it, and merely think I’m just losing my marbles, that title was a play on the phrase ‘take me to the dry cleaners’…poor, I know!)
(PPS – I’m sorry I’ve been slacking somewhat in the comment-reply department – I’ve been so busy revising and writing essay plans! But I AM reading them and they’re all very useful/funny/sweet 😀 so keep them coming!)
