Ah! I had like, the best ever trip to Waitrose/Tesco this arvo!! Check out all this fruit:
The strawberries were half price, and the blackberries and sharonfruit were all reduced to clear 🙂 You gotta love visiting a supermarket later in the day…it’s where the bargains are at!
So, I thought my lunch wouldn’t be that filling – afterall, butterbeans are hardly packed with protein, when compared to chicken, for example. But again, how wrong I was! It came to my afternoon snack, and my appetite was still sunning itself in the mediterranean somewhere! But me being me, I’d been thinking about what I was going to have since yesterday pretty much, so I went ahead – I’ve had this Rachel’s Organic pouring yogurt in my fridge for a week, so I felt it was time to finally crack it open:
Oh my – I thought it’d be like, well, yogurt, and that the whole ‘pouring’ thing came from the fact the tub was shaped at the top. But no! This stuff was like soup!! Really really liquidy…thick-ish milk maybe!!?? Very weird. I had orginally wanted to crumble half a Nature Valley granola bar into it, but that went out the window when I saw the liquid content :s Instead, I ate them seperately…along with a hot chocolate in mah crimbo mug!
Good times 😀 The ”yogurt” I just drunk like the French drink their hot chocolate – straight out the bowl 😛
For dinner, I needed some comfort carbs in the form of stuffed cannelloni 🙂 a) cos I wanted comfort food, and this is my go-to when that’s the case, b) the tubes had been sitting in my fridge using up valuable space for ages, and c) I want to carb load! So, here was my beautiful spinach and ricotta stuffed tubes:
I love them ever so. I had half the pack, which was baked with a 1/2 can of chopped tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper and garlic salt:
And I served it with parsnip chips and the last of my crown prince:
AHHH what a meal to-die-for! It doesn’t come much better 😀
Though this meal is the perfect example of one of my little weird habits: I like to save my two favourite vegetables for my last meal of the day so that I finish with all my favourite flavours 😀 And even more weirdly, I like to save a bit of each item on my plate (the best bits at least), so that I have a wonderful delicious ‘final mouthful’ :p! Is that weird!? Do any of you have any odd food habits? I only bring this topic up cos I’ve read about it on two different blogs today, and it made me think about mine 😀
Dessert was, of course, a hot chocolate and 2% Greek and some fancy chocolate (I think that’s one of my weird habits too – when I find a food combo that works, I’ll repeat it til death! Eventually I do get bored..but it can take a while!). Check out my current selection:
Various Lindt flavours – mint, coffee, 85%, orange…two different sorts of milk chocolate and another 70% dark chocolate, along with a fancy Thorntons bar 😀 I had a piece of milk and a piece of mint all snapped off ready to eat, when I remembered the milk chocolate orange fairtrade Divine bar I had in the bottome of my bag!
Half of that did the trick nicely 🙂
Anyways! I have an early start tomorrow (I’ve got to do an experiment before my lectues start, so I have data for my next lab report), and you know what they say: early to bed, early to rise, makes you happy, healthy and wise! So I believe that means one thing – I’m off! Goodnight 🙂
