Baaaahh HUMBUG. I’m so angry at it being cold and dark!! This morning and the whole of today it was beautiful and sunny and now it’s so dark…it annoys me because my stupid camera point blank REFUSES to take clear pictures if there isn’t pure and beautiful natural sunlight streaming through the windows 😦 This seemed extra apparent today, so excuse the poor quality!
So I went to this forensic/clinical psychology career talk – the forensic bit was the part I was most interested in, as it’s a career I’m toying with in my head. Obviously then, it was Sod’s Law that the bloke who was meant to be giving it was apparently ‘swamped with work’ and so couldn’t make it! Grr…on the plus side though, clinical psychology does seem interesting, so I got something out of it! Oh, and I also got there early and so had time to flick through the first 20 or so pages of Heat magazine – I got two things out of it then!!
When I came out of the talk, it was 5.45 and I was eeeevver so slightly peckish for a snack, so I dug out this piece of rye bread:
Am I the only one out there who actually really likes rye bread on its own, completly dry? It’s almost like a giant, thick cracker to me – tasty! Tasty…and FILLING! I had the most delicious dinner planned, and I kept putting off eating it cos I was still full, but eventually, the beautful flavours that I knew were coming overthrew my fullness….
Dins: I roasted up lootttss and lots of parsnip, butternut squash, garlic and cinnamon, as well as a shallot:
I also made a dressing using this delightful chutney:
Which was mixed up with some agave:
Rather relieved I stocked up on my agave supply yesterday! I can’t even begin to imagine the disaster that would follow should I run out 😛
Anyway, I also roasted a sweet potato, then added it all together along with the leftover sheep’s milk cheese from the other day….the result was a My-Favourite-Flavours-All-Mixed-Up-Together-Isn’t-That-Extra-Dreamy? kinda meal!!
(Note the crazy plate balancing act going on there – told you my desk was small :p)
Mmmm…a big plate of sweet tasting savoury foods, with added kicks from the tangy sheep’s milk cheese and the beautiful soft fluffiness of the sweet potato 🙂 I’d been looking forward to this combination since the weekend, so I’m SO glad I finally got round to eating it 😀 Including my sweet p skins! Does everyone else eat them? My mum eats the skins off a baked potato, but not off a sweet baked potato..she’s a right weirdo, that one.
For dessert, I had 2%:
And a square each of mint Lindt and Belgian milk chocolate:
I felt like I really deserved my lil treat foods tonight. Why? Cos between getting back from that careers thing and eating the yogurt and chocolate, I managed to type out the whole of the intervew transcript thingy! Phew – it was like a weight had been lifted when it was finished! *Round of applause for Freya* :p
I now have a quick question for everyone; I was reading Caitlin’s blog and she was asked about whether she eats when she’s hungry, or if she eats because it’s time to eat. I eat because it’s time to, on the whole. I occasionally get hungry before lunch or first thing in the morning, but other than that I’m full throughout the day, so just eat ‘because’. What do you guys do? What is your ‘it’s time to eat’ cue? I’m very interested to hear what everyone else does 🙂
Anyway, that’s all folks! I am S O O O tired and I’m getting up at 6.40 am tomorrow to do a quick speed run before my Nasty Day of Nasty Lectures 😦 (I know compared to some bloggers, 6.40 is a lie-in..but I go to bed at midnight, not 9pm, so to me it’s early!!) Sooo, goodnight!
